QEC Awareness Session on Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2022 & Rise of MUST at International Canvas

Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur presided awareness session / detailed PowerPoint presentation on Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2022 on Monday, May 09, 2022 at 11:00 hrs in the Video Conference Room of City Campus of the University.

The Times Education (THE) Impact Rankings are the global league tables that assess Universities against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) & this programme is working since 2000 with Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for the first 15 years ( 2000 – 2015) & vision 2030 as second phase named Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) (2015 – 2030). It is noteworthy to mention here that Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJK has attained special excellence in THE 2022 & has been placed at 53rd position in Pakistan (First in AJ&K Universities) and Ranked at 1001+ category at the International level by Times Higher Education (THE) by completing 106 different countries/regions.

While addressing the awareness session Brigadier Younis Javed congratulated the participants & commended the Director QEC & his entire team for achieving this milestone. He further said MUST prestigious International Ranking will increase employability rate of University graduates at National and International job markets, Global Visibility of MUST, will also help in Collaboration and Partnerships, Recognition of MUST Degrees at National & International Level and will add in Quality of Research. Vice Chancellor directed Deans & HoDs to conduct awareness sessions for faculty and students of their respective departments & to maintain complete data of all the projects, events, workshops, webinars and besides this many other things which are at the play.

Introductory part of Presentation was given by Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Director Quality Enhancement which was followed by detailed presentation by Deputy Director QEC aimed to educate MUST faculty regarding SDGs, It’s tables & significance of Data, procedures to document events & activities of the departments.

After detailed briefing of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) honourable Vice Chancellor MUST invited questions from the House & extensive discussion was carried out on potential SDGs where this organisation can work on, way and means to ensure participation of all departments to put joint efforts & actions to improving it’s National and International Ranking.

Session was attended by, Registrar MUST, Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Director MUST Business School Treasurer MUST, Controller of Examinations, Heads of Directorates, Chairpersons and Coordinators.
