Mirpur University pays glorious tribute to the 78th Founding Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, honouring the indefatigable struggle, everlasting spirit of freedom and noble sacrifices of the subjugated people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), amidst the pernicious atrocities of the occupational forces; this day renews our commitment to the sacred struggle for liberty and self-determination of the oppressed people of IIOJ&K, reaffirming their enduring quest for dignity and sovereignty while the celebrations stand as a beacon of hope, resilience & determination to continue the valiant journey towards the freedom of the valley
The 78th Youm-e-Tasees of Azad Jammu and Kashmir celebrated with National fervor at Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K the Ceremony of the Founding Day was organised by Directorate of Student Affairs in collaboration with Departments of English & International Relations. The flag hoisting ceremony held at 0855 hrs, City Campus of the University on Friday, October 24, 2025. Dr. Muhammad Altaf, Director Student Affairs, Mr. Tamoor Akbar Chaudhary, Additional Registrar, Dr. Asma Iqbal Kayani, Assistant Professor Department of English, Faculty Members, Administrative Officers and University Students participated in the event. Dr. Muhammad Sajjad, former Director, Institute of Islamic Studies offered prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan, State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and for the realization of freedom for the Kashmiri Brothers & Sisters.
Mr. Muneeb-ur-Rehman from the Department of English recited verses from the Holy Quran followed by Mr. Aqib Alam from the Department of International Relations who presented Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbol (PBUH). Dr. Asma Iqbal Kayani, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Mr. Hassan Tariq, Lecturer, International Relations & Muhammad Faizan, student from Department of English spoke about the importance of the Day and the brave struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They said that the Day reflects the courage & hopes of the Kashmiri people and shows their firm commitment to their cause. They also expressed hope that their continued struggle & sacrifices would one day bring them freedom and rights they deserve. Students from the Departments of English & International Relations including Zarish, Shanfa & their fellows presented National & Kashmiri songs. Their enchanting voices created an atmosphere of pride & unity among the participants. Malaika Pervez & Mehreen Qamar from the same departments gracefully conducted the proceedings of the Youm-e-Tasees.
