It gives me immense pleasure to present to the people of Azad Kashmir and the adjoining areas of Pakistan, the gift of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST). For me, it is a dream coming true and nothing gives me more pride and comfort than seeing MUST come into being.

I hope that the university administration, parents and the community will contribute to take this nascent university to the highest international standards and would like to see MUST emerge as an internationally recognized institution of higher education. MUST also aims at fulfilling the higher education needs of overseas Kashmiris, particularly those settled in the UK. I have directed the university to earmark certain places for overseas students. This is meant to strengthen further the bond between the people of Kahsmir and the families residing in the UK and other European countries.I urge the university to enter into collaboration with universities abroad involving exchange of students and faculty by providing a forum for sharing experience and ideas, keeping themselves abreast of the latest developments taking place in their respective fields.

MUST offers a wide range of most current disciplines which promise bright careers to its graduates. Engineering remains our priority. The university is expected to grow from strength to strength in coming years. Qualified and accomplished academicians staff the university. A team of energetic and cooperative staff is anxious to serve the students in the best possible manner.

I invite overseas communities to contribute in every possible way in the development of the university. I also advise the university administration to devise a mechanism for involving the community in the development of the university.
