Mirpur University hosts Division-Level Speech Contest as Part of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day Celebrations

MUST, Mirpur AJ&K holds In-House Quiz on “Pakistan After 2000” in Commemoration of Independence Day 2025 to promote solidarity & patriotic vigor for sovereignty; Group ITHAD wins to represent University at Inter-University finals in Muzaffarabad
As part of the Independence Day celebrations 2025, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) organized an In-House Quiz Competition on the theme “Pakistan After 2000.” In alignment with the national festivities and in accordance with the directives of the Higher Education Department, Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (GoAJK), the event was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Rashida Hussain, Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences. The competition brought together students from various faculties of MUST and was held at the Mechanical Hall, fostering a spirit of knowledge, unity, and national pride. The event was organized in collaboration with MUST Biotechnology Scienceporium (MUST BS), Student Development Circle (SDC), MUST Chemical Society (MCS), and Society of Sciences (SOS). Dr. Maryam Nazir, Lecturer Department of Mathematics was nominated by Dean FNAS as a Focal Person for the Quiz Competition. A total of 32 students from various faculties registered for the competition. The participants were divided into two houses Bunyan-ul-Marsoos and Marka-i-Haq, each house further divided into four groups named as EMAAN, ITIHAD, TANZEEM, YAQEEN E MOHQM and ZARB E AZBAL, MIZAN, RAH E NIJAT, AZM E ISTEHKAM respectively.
The competition comprised of three challenging rounds and following a thorough evaluation, Group ITHAD was declared the winner. The decision was made by the panel of judges Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Associate Professor Department of Chemistry and Dr. Saira Shah Assistant Professor Department of Education. Muhammad Aqib, Syed Burhan Haider Bukhari from the Department of Software Engineering along with Mehreen Akram from the Department of International Relations were the members of the Group ITHAD which has been nominated to represent MUST at the upcoming Inter-University Final Competitions on 14th August 2025 at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Muzaffarabad. Events like these not only foster healthy competition but also enhance critical thinking, communication skills, and camaraderie among students from diverse disciplines. The Dean faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences expressed her heartfelt congratulations to all the students who actively participated in this enriching and competitive event. The enthusiasm, dedication, and spirit of teamwork demonstrated by each participant reflect the core values we strive to instill and particularly commend Group ITHAD for its outstanding performance and for emerging as the winners of the competition.
