MUST Mirpur AJ&K Commemorates 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal 1447 AH – the 1500th Birthday of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ with majestic love, utmost reverence & religious devotion; renewed the commitment to follow the sacred teachings of the Greatest Leader of the Universe for lasting tranquility, social amity & synergetic beneficence of Muslims across the World so as to inspire the resolve to uphold Islamic values in edification, character-building as well as serving the humanity in the light of the eternal guidance of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)
The Institute of Islamic Studies of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K organised an event to celebrate the 12th Rabi-ul-Awal, marking the 1500th Birthday of our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). The ceremony was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 in the Mechanical Hall of the City Campus & was presided over by Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities/ Director MUST Business School. Besides this major event Institute of Islamic Studies under theicated w guidance of Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M), Vice Chancellor MUST arranged 12-day program titled “Ashra Rehmat-ul-Lil’Alamin” to commemorate the occasion. The program took place from 1st to 12th Rabi ul Awal, 1447 AH, aimed to reflect on the eternal teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) & their relevance to modern life. Each day lectures & discussions were held at NTC Hall on the theme “The Positive Role of Media and Our Responsibility in the Light of the Seerat.” Scholars highlighted how the Prophet (PBUH) communith truth, wisdom & compassion and stressed the need for media to adopt these values to promote truth, harmony & unity in society.
The central ceremony of 12th Rabi-ul-Awal held as the highlight of the program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat Mubarak. Mr. Waqar Ahmed, Khateeb of MUST spoke on the Universal message of mercy & compassion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) & its link with ethical communication. Dr. Shabaz Shabibir & Mr. Imran Khan gave insightful talks on the Prophet’s approach to honest & impactful communication and its importance for modern media. Prof. Dr. Tahir Aslam, Director Institute of Islamic Studies delivered brief but inspiring address focusing on key lessons from the Seerah, especially media ethics & national responsibility. Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities delivered the concluding remarks. He praised the Institute of Islamic Studies for arranging such a meaningful program & emphasised the importance of practicing the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in both academic life and daily living. He particularly highlighted the responsible use of media & encouraged more such initiatives to promote ethical values and spiritual growth within the university. The program was hosted by Dr. Sajid Ahmed, Institute of Islamic Studies & concluded with special Dua for the prosperity & stability of Pakistan and the wellbeing of the Muslim Ummah.
