The Institute of Islamic Studies, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), organized a one-day training workshop on “Understanding of Holy Quran / Fahm-e-Quran” at the NTC Hall today. The program commenced with the opening remarks by Dr. Tahir Aslam, Director Institute of Islamic Studies, who warmly welcomed the distinguished guest speaker and highlighted the significance of implementing this course as per the directives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The guest speaker, Dr. Ubaid ur Rehman Bashir, Assistant Professor and Faculty Member (Arabic Department), International Islamic University Islamabad, Director, Institute of Arabic Language and Ma‘lum ul Quran, and National Consultant (HEC) for Understanding of the Holy Quran, delivered a comprehensive and insightful lecture on the theme. He elaborated on the objectives, methodology, and teaching strategies for effective implementation of the Fahm-e-Quran course in universities. Dr. Ubaid ur Rehman also guided the faculty members of the Institute of Islamic Studies, MUST, on how to integrate the course into the existing curriculum with true academic and spiritual spirit. The session was highly interactive and fruitful, and all faculty members of the Institute actively participated. The program was coordinated by Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, who concluded the event with his closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants and the guest speaker for their valuable contributions. The Institute of Islamic Studies extends its sincere thanks to the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Brig. (R) Muhammad Younas Javed, for his kind approval and continued support, as well as to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for its guidance and assistance in implementing this important initiative. Special appreciation is also extended to Dr. Ubaid ur Rehman Bashir for his dedicated efforts and scholarly contribution toward promoting the understanding of the Holy Quran.
