Dean's Message:
Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences was established in 2020 after approval by the Senate MUST. As dean of the faculty, it is a matter of great honor for me to play a pivotal role in the development of the faculty. After fulfilling basic infrastructural requirements, various degree programs were planned by following indigenously developed integrated system-based modular curriculum in line with modern concepts of medical education, which will fulfil the allied health needs of the community. Keeping in view adaptation of technological challenges in under developed community of Kashmir, we are practicing spiral based hierarchy in teaching methodology whereby there is horizontal as well as vertical integration of courses that will ultimately promote learning with clinical contexts. To achieve such dynamic clinical oriented goals, our faculty has signed MOUs with Divisional Head Quarter Teaching Hospital Mirpur, New City Teaching hospital Mirpur and district head quarter hospital Bhimber, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Currently, the Faculty is providing skillful educational environment in the fields of Physiotherapy, Human Nutrition & Dietetics and Allied Health Sciences. In the near future, plans are in place for establishing Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy) program as well. In our constant efforts for enhancing the teaching and learning experience, our departments are in close coordination with the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the university. Due emphasis is given to the feedback from both the teachers and the students. As such, the teaching programs are regularly monitored and curricular are refined. It is our commitment to exert unified efforts for providing the best opportunities in basic and clinical learning that ultimately leads to the capacity building of our graduates.
