Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah, Chairman of Prime Minister’s Inspection and Implementation Commission/ Member Legislative Assembly AJ&K graced seminar ” قضیہ فلسطین اور آج کا نوجوان”
Jointly organised by Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS) and Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K as a Guest Speaker on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 1000 hrs.
Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST, Mirpur AJ&K in his opening remarks extended a warm welcome to the honorable Chief Guest Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah acknowledging his presence and contribution towards the support of the oppressed people of Gaza Strip. Vice Chancellor provided insight into the historical context of the Palestine issue, discussing the justness and legitimacy of the Palestinian freedom struggle and their deep commitment to national Identity, the Holy Land and the sovereignty of the their State. He further emphasised the collective responsibility of today’s Youth to raise their voices on all platforms in support of Palestinian and Kashmiri subjugated people. So far the international community has failed to take concrete steps to diffuse and mediate the ongoing humanitarian crises in Palestine, he added. Brigadier Younus Javed commended the efforts of the Institute of Islamic Studies and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences for organising the seminar on Palestine issue.
During his address Guest Speaker, Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah stressed upon University Students to realise their evolving role, responsibilities and challenges that have emerged over the past few decades. He highlighted factors contributing to the disintegration of unity within the Muslim Ummah, including the shifting global strategic environment, internal rifts, dependency on the West, struggling economies and instability in the Muslim World. Member Legislative Assembly encouraged students to pursue higher education, empower themselves to advocate more effectively for the oppressed peoples of Palestine and to revive the lost glory. Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah expressed gratitude to Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor Mirpur University for the hospitality and for providing him with the opportunity to interact with the future leadership.
