After the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat e Rasool Maqbool ﷺ the seminar began with a warm welcome by the Director of IIS Dr. Asghar Ali Khan, followed by an inaugural address by Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ghous, Dean of F.S.S.H, who set the tone for the day’s discussions.
The faculty members of the Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS) at MUST welcomed scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts to its seminar on “New Dimensions of Research in Islamic Studies.” The first day, dedicated to an overview and technological innovations, was marked by insightful presentations and engaging discussions, offering a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in the field.
Session 1: Navigating Arabic Language Challenges in MPhil and PhD Research in Islamic Studies: Solutions, Strategies, and Future Directions

Speaker: Dr. Sami Ullah Zubairi (AIOU)
Dr. Sami Ullah Zubairi initiated the seminar by addressing the prevalent challenges researchers encounter in Arabic language during MPhil and PhD research in Islamic Studies. He offered practical solutions, innovative strategies, and outlined future directions to effectively navigate these challenges. His presentation provided attendees with valuable insights into overcoming language barriers in academic research.
Session 2: New Dimensions of Research in Hadith Sciences

Dr. Inam Ul Haq presented on the new dimensions of research in Hadith Sciences, offering a deeper understanding of this fundamental aspect of Islamic Studies. Session 3: Islamic Studies Research in Inter-faith Contexts: Challenges and Best Practices

Dr. Riaz Ahmed Saeed delved into the challenges and best practices of conducting Islamic Studies research in inter-faith contexts. He explored the complexities of inter-faith dialogue, highlighting the importance of understanding and addressing the challenges while promoting mutual understanding and respect. His presentation stimulated thoughtful discussion among participants.
