Dr. Toqeer Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of English of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K has successfully defended his Doctoral Thesis titled: “Precarious Lives, Precarious Geographies: Violence, Necropolitics and Body Politics in Contemporary Pakistani Anglophone Fiction” at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) on May 29, 2024.
Dr. Rahul K. Gairola from Murdoch University, Australia was foreign examiner where as Prof. Dr. Safeer Awan, Dean Faculty of Languages, NUML Islamabad and Dr. Nighat Ahmed, Associate Professor, NUML Islamabad were local external examiners. Dr. Toqeer Ahmed completed his PhD under supervision of Dr. Aroosa Kanwal, Associate Professor, Department of English, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad.
His research focuses on the intersections of violence, necropolitics and body politics within contemporary Pakistani Anglophone literature. This significant achievement highlights his dedication and hard work which has brought great honour for the Department of English of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K.
