The Self Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (Self-RIPE) for Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJK, was carried out from June 5 to 7, 2024, based on 16 RIPE Standards. These standards include Vision, Mission, Goals and Strategic Planning; Governance, Leadership and Organization; Institutional Resources and Planning; Audit and Finance; Affiliated Colleges/Institutions; Internationalization of Higher Education and Global Engagement; Faculty Recruitment, Development and Support Services; Academic Programs and Curricula; Admission, Progression, Assessment, and Certification; Student Support Services; Impactful Teaching and Learning and Community Engagement; Research, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Industrial Linkage; Fairness and Integrity; Public Information and Transparency; Institutional Effectiveness; Quality Assurance and Enhancement; and QI and Cyclical External Quality Assurance. Prior to the RIPE, the Internal Quality Committee (IQC) established an Internal Performance Review (IPR) committee to prepare the University Performance Report for the period of July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, following the guidelines provided by HEC. This report was reviewed by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), significantly facilitating the reviewer’s work. The efforts in preparing the IPR and the cooperation extended by administrative and academic officials, particularly the QEC staff, are gratefully acknowledged.

At the start of the visit, the Self RIPE panel met with Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, who discussed ongoing efforts to improve the University’s infrastructure and enhance the quality of teaching and research. The review panel commended the QEC team for their successful participation in the International Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings (2024). Additionally, the University has obtained international membership in INQAAHE and aims to secure further memberships. During the evaluation process all sections of MUST were assessed. The Self RIPE review panel meticulously examined documents against the sixteen standards outlined in the IPR and visited departments, the central library, laboratories, key administrative sections, and classrooms. The panel interacted with graduate and undergraduate students, lecturers, assistant professors, deans, and heads of departments. The panel noted that the University operates a central Network and Telecommunication Center (NTC), which efficiently supports administration tasks such as admissions, registrations, and examinations, and also provides internet and online education services.
