The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FH&MS) of Mirpur University of Science & Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K organised the much-awaited Health Faculty Spring Festival 2K25 on Monday, February 10, 2025. The festival brought together University Students, Faculty Members & local Community Members for exciting & fun-filled day with a variety of activities, creativity & focus on promoting health awareness. The festival offered variety of attractions including 40 Student Stalls, 18 Sponsor Stalls, 6 Educational Camps, 6 Inter-Departmental wall Painting Competitions & 1 Art Gallery, including Food Stalls, Book Stalls, Mehndi Stalls, Cultural Garment & Jewelry Stalls organised by all five Departments of the Faculty. Students beautifully decorated the venue creating a ravishing display of colors that enhanced the celebration. Many students wore cultural dresses with vibrant embroidery which made the festival more lively. The festival was officially opened by the Chief Guest of the Spring Festival 2K25, Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST along with Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Dean FH&MS, Prof. Dr. Khizer ul Haq, Registrar MUST, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajjad, Dean FE&T, Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Main Zeeshan Javed, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy, Administrative Officers, Faculty Members & University Students.
Food stalls managed by students & vendors offered traditional dishes which added to the festive vibe. The festival also focused on health & well-being with Medical Camps providing advice & displaying pharmaceutical products. The Art Gallery gave students & local artists a chance to present their works on health, wellness & spring renewal. Many students participated in the painting competition & winners were acknowledged for their exceptional creativity, skill & technique. Students performed variety of stage performances including Cultural performances, Sufi Kalam & National Songs. In his speech Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Dean, FH&MS paid gratitude to Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST for attending the event, spending time with the students & encouraging their efforts. He also expressed thanks to all distinguished guests for valuing the festival.
Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Younus Javed commended the efforts of Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Dean FH&MS, Dr. Mian Zeeshan Javed, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy, Dr. Ayesha Jamal, Coordinator Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Tehseen Ismail, Coordinator Department of Microbiology, Mr. Aqib Saeed, Coordinator Department of Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Mr. Aqeel Mehmood, Coordinator Department of Allied Sciences & especially the Students of the Faculty. He highlighted their hard work which made the event a remarkable success. He further said that Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences had raised 800 thousand rupees through sponsor contributions without seeking help from the Central Treasury which is unprecedented in the University’s history. The Vice Chancellor praised the Faculty for organising such large-scale event calling it a role model for other Faculties and Departments of the University. He also visited each stall offering encouragement & distributing cash tokens of appreciation.
