A Workshop on Higher Education Commission Graduate Education Policy (GEP) 2023 was hosted by Advance Studies & Research Board (AS&RB) of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K. Engr. Dr. Anzar Mehmood, Director of AS&RB delivered a comprehensive talk supported by a multimedia presentation in the Video Conference Room of the Network and Telecommunication Centre (NTC) of Mirpur University.

Dr. Rizwan Ullah, Deputy Director, Advance Studies & Research Board commenced the proceedings of the session with introduction & short briefing on the GEP 2023. Later Engr. Dr. Anzar Mehmood, Resource Person / Director AS&RB initiated discussion on the subject workshop covering the core issues in graduate education and highlighting several key aspects of the GEP 2023 including plagiarism policy, thesis criteria, research publications, PhD supervisor criteria, degree time frames, thesis evaluation, examinations and important issues like penalties, including academic probation, suspension and other disciplinary measures. Dr. Anzar Mahmood also discussed the strategic importance of the GEP-2023 in enhancing the quality of higher education in Pakistan. The purpose of the workshop was to strengthen the faculty’s understanding of the new policy & to promote quality education by adhering to the updated Higher Education Commission’s guidelines.

During an interactive session participants shared their experiences & challenges related to the implementation of graduate education policies. The workshop concluded with a Questions & Answers session where participants asked valuable questions & received detailed explanations. In his closing remarks Engr. Dr. Anzar Mehmood thanked all the participants and the organising team for making the event a success.
