Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M), Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K presided over the 18th Meeting of the Academic Council on Thursday, December 19, 2024 in the Video Conference Room of Network and Telecommunications Center (NTC), MUST City Campus. During his introductory remarks Brigadier Younus Javed warmly welcomed Dr. Farida Anjum Director Acdemics, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad along with the members of Academic Council. He highlighted the significant responsibility of the Academic Council in supervising the academic activities & functions of the University. Vice Chancellor stressed MUST Mirpur AJ&K dedication in delivering high-quality education across various disciplines while maintaining the highest standards for its students.

Prof. Dr. Khazir Ul Haq, Registrar MUST/ Secretary Academic Council presented Implementation Report on the decisions of the Meeting of 17th Academic Council, Minutes of the Meeting of 17th Academic Council & agenda points of 18th Meeting of the Academic Council for discussion /approval. The 18th Academic Council examined & deliberated on several major topics including Special Chances, Scheme of Studies & its Rectification, Promotion & Semester Rules, Conduct of Online Viva Voce Examinations for MS/MPhil/MSc programs and Recommendations of Advanced Studies and Research Board (AS&RB). Other topics were Implementation of MUST Research Policy, Launch of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Artificial Intelligence) Program in MIT-MUST, Introduction of a Three-Year Hifz-e-Quran Program, Formation of Faculty & Departmental Councils and Establishment of New Departments along with other agenda items.

The 18th Meeting of the Academic Council of MUST, Mirpur AJ&K was attended by the Deans of the Faculties, Treasure MUST, Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Controller of Examinations, Additional Registrar, HoDs / Coordinators, CMS Coordinator, Deputy Registrar (General) & external members. At the conclusion of the meeting Brigadier Younus Javed thanked participants for their valuable contribution & commended Prof. Dr. Khazir Ul Haq, Registrar/Secretary of the Academic Council, Mr. Muhammad Naveed Deputy Registrar(Meetings), Mr. Tahir Mehmood, Assistant Registrar (Meetings), Dr. Waqas Faryad & Administrative Staff for organising the 18th Academic Council Meeting in an exemplary manner.
