The Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJ&K, in partnership with the British Council Pakistan, has launched “IELTS on Computer” testing facility. This initiative marks a significant advancement in the provision of international standardized testing within the Azad Jammu and Kashmir region. The introduction of this modernized testing modality offers candidates enhanced accessibility, greater flexibility in test dates, and faster results turnaround compared to the paper-based format. For the university, hosting this official test centre strengthens its institutional profile as a hub for educational excellence and internationalization. It directly supports student and faculty mobility by providing a convenient and reliable pathway to meet the English language proficiency requirements of global academic and professional institutions. This public-private partnership exemplifies a strategic alignment between national higher education objectives and global linguistic assessment standards. By localizing access to a critical gateway exam, the collaboration democratizes opportunity, reduces logistical and financial burdens on candidates, and contributes to human capital development.
