The Department of Biotechnology of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K organised its Annual Function & a special farewell ceremony on February 12, 2025 to honour Prof. Dr. Khizar-ul-Haq, Registrar MUST on the occasion of his retirement. The event took place at Nafees Marquee, with Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST serving as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajid, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq, Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Anzer Mehmood, Director AS&RB, Mr. Daud Ali Siddiqui, SPS to the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Taimoor Akbar, Additional Registrar, Dr. Zahid Mehmood, Transport Officer, Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Director, Estate Management, Mr. Naveed Shah, Admin Officer, Mr. Hafeez Bin Mustafa, Public Relations Officer, Faculty Members & Students participated in the event.
The function featured a diverse program that included Academic presentations, Cultural performances & a fabulous farewell. Students enthusiastically participated, displayed their talent through speeches & musical performances that added to the vibrancy of the event. During the farewell ceremony, Prof. Dr. Khizar-ul-Haq was praised for his exemplary contributions as a great administrator and his services for Higher Education of AJ&K. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Altaf, Chairperson of the Department and President of the MUST Biotechnology Scienceporium & the student representative praised his leadership & dedication. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Khizar-ul-Haq, the guest of honour, thanked the Department of Biotechnology for paying him great respect and arranging the farewell for him. He highlighted the significant achievements the university had made during his tenure as Registrar under the leadership of Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST.
In his address, Brigadier Younus Javed expressed his deep appreciation for the event, particularly for its seamless organisation under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Altaf, Chairperson, Department of Biotechnology. He also commended Chairperson for his thorough & professional management of the event. Honourable Vice Chancellor further praised the overall performance of the Department, emphasising its significance in the modern age of technological advancement. He also encouraged students to put their all efforts into their studies, urging them to fulfill the dreams of their parents & make a name for themselves. The Vice Chancellor awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 to Ayesha Arooj, 5th-semester student for her outstanding Sufiana Qalam performance. The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs & tokens of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Khizar-ul-Haq, followed by a group photograph & a high tea session.
