July 4, 2025Department of Home Economics of MUST, Mirpur presents the Final Year Research Projects Display 2025 in Food & Nutrition, Fashion & Design and Art & Design

The Department of Home Economics of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K hosted the Final Year Research Projects Display 2025 recognizing the creativity & hard work of graduating students from the Food & Nutrition, Fashion & Design and Art & Design programs. The exhibition was inaugurated by Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed, SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST along with Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Khuram Pervez Amber, Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Ms. Rahaat Shareef, Coordinator Department of Home Economics, Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Director Estate Management, Major Jahangir Ahmed, Chief Security Officer, Faculty Members & Students. The Vice Chancellor visited each section of the display & appreciated the thoughtful projects and commended the combined efforts of students for their dedication, creativity & teamwork.
The Food and Nutrition section featured a range of health-conscious products focused on the healing benefits of natural ingredients such as turmeric & ginger shots, dates & sattu bars, energy bites, herbal teas & homemade cereals. In the Fashion and Design section students presented theme-based projects like Lily Tops (Cultural Fusion Shirts), Kurta and Trouser sets, mood boards with Ajrak patterns & decorative textile items. Meanwhile the Art and Design section showcased modern takes on Kashmiri heritage through Papier-Mache carpet designs, Namdas, walnut wood carvings & depictions of landmarks like Baghser Fort, Samani, Bhimber AJ&K. The displays reflect students’ deep understanding of their respective fields & their commitment to preserving culture through innovation & design. At the culmination of his visit to the exhibition Students from Art & Design presented Brigadier Younus Javed with hand-drawn portraits of himself as a token of remembrance.
