November 13, 2025Department of Mass Communication organized a special Film/Drama Screening as part of the Pakistan–Türkiye Friendship Week celebrations.

The Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) organized a special Film/Drama Screening as part of the Pakistan–Türkiye Friendship Week celebrations. The episode screened was from the acclaimed Turkish–Pakistani historical television series “Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi” (Salahuddin Ayyubi), produced by Turkey’s Akli Films and Pakistan’s Ansari and Shah Films. The event drew enthusiastic participation from faculty and students, highlighting the shared cultural heritage and historical ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Being Head of Department of Mass Communication, Theatre Artist and Producer, Dr. Muhammad Bilal Bhatti, addressed the audience and provided a rich analytical perspective on the series. He shed light on the narrative depth, script development, historical authenticity, character portrayal, cinematic techniques, and overall production quality of the series. Dr. Bilal emphasized how the drama not only revives the legacy of Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi as a symbol of courage, faith, and justice—but also strengthens cultural bonds and joint media collaboration between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Through such collaborative productions, Pakistan and Türkiye continue strengthening their cultural voice on the international media landscape. The event was graced by Dr. Tahir Aslam, Director Institute of Islamic Studies, who joined as Guest of Honour. In his remarks, Dr. Tahir appreciated the initiative of the Mass Communication Department, highlighting that such screenings play a vital role in educating youth about Islamic history, inspiring moral values, and fostering unity among Muslim nations. Students expressed keen interest in the series and engaged in thoughtful discussions on its historical themes, media value, and portrayal of Islamic heroes.
