The Department of Home Economics of MUST, Mirpur AJ&K organises Eid Milaan Event to exhibit students’ Creativity, Promote Applied Arts alongside celebrating Cultural Heritage, Aesthetic Brilliance & Craftsmanship

The Eid Milaan Event was organised by the Department of Home Economics of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K. The event was graced by Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST as a Chief Guest. Upon his arrival he was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, Ms. Rahat Shareef, Chairperson Department of Home Economics, Dr. Muhammad Altaf, Director Students Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Director Estate Management & Mr. Hafeez Bin Mustafa, Public Relations Officer. The event was held to celebrate Eid with a special focus on showcasing the creativity, skill & talent of the students through different displays & activities. It also aimed to highlight the value of Applied Arts in Education & encouraged students to take interest in creative fields like Home Economics & Fashion Design.

Ms. Rahat Shareef, Chairperson Department of Home Economics gave a detailed briefing to the Vice Chancellor about the various Art Labs, Galleries & Creative Stalls prepared by the students. She also emphasised on the key features of the event which included Eid-themed fashion display by students in Self-Designed Dresses, Nursery Students in Ethnic Attire, Singing competition, Workshops on formal/informal table setting & creative napkin folding. The Event also included displays of food & Nutrition Projects, Handmade Jewelry & Mehndi Stalls and selective Food Stalls set up to serve and entertain the guests. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the Students’ efforts, praised their talent & encouraged them to further refine their work for future market opportunities. He emphasised the value of Home Economics and Fashion & Design as important fields that contribute to the National development of Pakistan.
