Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences bids farewell to Professor Dr. Muhammad Aslam, who has retired (31 May 2024) after an illustrious 37 years of services in education sector, particularly 14.5 years in MUST. Throughout his remarkable carrier, Professor Dr. Muhammad Aslam’s dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment have earned him admiration and respect from the entire MUST community.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Aslam’s journey into education was inspired by his passion for Chemistry. Starting as a Primary School Teacher, he thrived on delivering relevant education in challenging environments and eventually ascended to the position of the Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences at MUST Mirpur.
On 30th May 2024, the faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences has arranged a graceful ceremony in the hounour of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam on his retirement. Honourable Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Scicence and Technology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed, SI(M), former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Habib-Ur-Rehman (SI), and former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rehana Asghar (TI), have graced the occasion. In the opening of the ceremony, Dr. Azhar Hussain, Chairperson Physics formally welcomed all the distinguished guests. On behalf of FoN&AS he appreciated Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam for his unparallel services as a chemistry teacher, as Director QEC and later as Dean FoN&AS. Later different faculty members from all the science departments acknowledged the services of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam and paid tribute for his contributions in MUST and in education sector. Former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Habib-Ur-Rehman (SI) also acknowledged Dr. Aslam’s sound knowledge in the field of chemistry and appreciated him for his services at MUST.
In the closong remarks, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed, SI(M), acknowledged Dr. Aslam’s professional attitude and tireless efforts for quality education as Director QEC and later as Dean FoN&AS.
On his retirement, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam expressed, “I am fortunate that throughout my career in teaching and Deanship, I have been privileged to work with many amazing, highly talented and committed staff, faculty members, seniors, Vice Chancellors and students.
He added, It has been an honour to work in MUST and I will greatly miss working with such a fantastic faculty, staff and students.”
At the end of the ceremony, the honourable Vice Chancellors presented the appreciation shields to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam on behalf of the members of Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, and the Department of Chemistry.
The faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences community extends heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam for his invaluable services and unwavering commitment. We wish Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam a joyful and fulfilling retirement ahead!
