General Officer Commanding (GOC) Jhelum, Major General Muhammad Intikhab Alam, visits Mirpur University to hold an intellectually engaging & enriching interactive session with Madaris Students, Delving into Pakistan’s National Identity & the philosophical underpinnings of the Two-Nation Theory; an Imperative stepping-stone of National Integration, a Panacea for security challenges & as a Guarantor of stability. He dilated on Pivotal role of the Armed Forces in preserving the Sovereignty & Territorial sanctity of the Nation amidst evolving geo-strategic paradigms; while accentuating the responsibilities of Youth in an era of digital subterfuge & their indispensable role in Nation-building
Major General Muhammad Intikhab Alam, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Jhelum, made a visit to Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 0900 hours to hold an exclusive & insightful session with Madaris Students & their respected faculty. At the City Campus of Mirpur University General Officer Commanding was graciously received by Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST along with Brigadier Awais Adil, Brigade Commander Jalalpur Jattan, Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain, Commissioner Mirpur Division, Dr. Liaqat Chaudhry, Deputy Inspector General Police Mirpur Division, Prof. Dr. Naeem Iqbal Ratyal, Registrar MUST, Dr. Muhammad Altaf, Director Students Affairs, Faculty Members and Administrative Officers.
Speaking to the participating Students from the Jamia Gulzar-E-Habib, Dar-ul-Aloom Siddiquia, Jamia Madrassa-al-Hira, Makki Madressa Eidgah & Madrassa Rizwia Jatlan. Maj General Intikhab Alam elaborated on Pakistan’s National Identity & its ideological roots, emphasising the Two Nation Theory was a foundational concept behind creation of the Separate Homeland. He further stated that the two Nation theory asserts that Muslims & Hindus under British rule constituted two distinct Nations, each characterized by its own religion, cultural heritage & way of life. He highlighted the importance of a strong military particularly in prevailing global landscape where countries without robust Armed Forces not only come under the influence of foreign powers but are falling into the hands of hostile States & being left at their mercy. He also stressed that the Armed Forces of Pakistan are playing pivotal role in protecting National Sovereignty & maintaining Territorial Integrity, while also shedding light on the persistent challenges involved in securing the National Borders. He further honoured the unparalleled commitment & sacrifices of the officers & soldiers who remain ever vigilant in safeguarding every inch of the beloved Homeland.
The General Officer advised the Youth about the dangers of Misinformation & Media Manipulation particularly from hostile states seeking to destabilize minds. He urged the youth to critically evaluate all information before accepting it. In this era of digital deception he emphasised that discerning truth from falsehood is both wise & a moral obligation. The General Officer stressed that national unity is essential for lasting peace & stability. He called on the Youth to stay connected to the very founding ideology & values of Pakistan. He highlighted the National untapped potential in natural, human & strategic resources which can drive national progress. He encouraged students to take responsibility for Pakistan’s future & realize the need to prepare for leadership roles with focus and purpose. Instead of merely seeking jobs he urged them to become entrepreneurs & nation-builders. During the session many students particularly female students expressed strong interest in joining the Armed Forces. The GOC acknowledged their enthusiasm, offered encouragement & inspired them to pursue their aspirations with confidence. During the interactive session students asked variety of questions to the General Officer regarding Pakistan’s internal & external security situation along with regional & global developments all of which he addressed thoroughly.
Major General Intikhab Alam commended Brigadier Younus Javed for his consistent & great hospitality and huge efforts in organising a successful & meaningful interactive session. He also appreciated MUST’s positive contribution to Nation-building. GOC acknowledged the participation of the Commissioner and DIG Mirpur Division. At the conclusion of the session Major General Intikhab Alam presented souvenirs to the representatives of the Madaris & distributed gifts to the students who actively participated in the Question & Answer segment.
