Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K has launched the National Outreach Training Program for Faculty Development offered by the National Academy of Higher Education, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The training aims to enhance the teaching skills of MUST’s faculty members. The training sessions will be conducted by Mr. Ghulam Murtaza from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Hussain, Resource Person from Islamic International University Islamabad.
The opening ceremony took place at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences building, with the presence of Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor of MUST, along with other distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Anwar Khatab, Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rashida Hussain, Dean, Faculty of National and Applied Sciences and Prof. Engr. Dr. Khuram Pervez Amber, Coordinator Outreach Training /Director, Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC). Dr. Khuram Pervez introduced the scope of the National Outreach Training Program for Faculty Development and conveyed thanks to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan for providing this opportunity. Brigadier Younus Javed addressed the participants, encouraged them to actively engage in the training. He expressed his gratitude to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan for providing funding for this important training. He motivated the faculty members to participate and attend the training with full interest, emphasizing its potential to enhance their teaching skills. The Honourable Vice Chancellor appreciated Prof. Dr. Anwar Khatab, Dean Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and Dr. Mian Zeeshan Javed, Chairperson of Pharmacy Department for providing and facilitating all necessary equipment, building infrastructure and logistical support for the successful conduct of this training.
Prof. Dr. Anwar Khatab, thanked the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the resource person. He showed expectations that this training will help MUST’s faculty members enhance their teaching skills. Prof. Dr. Rashida Hussain also spoke to the participants, motivating them to attend the training with full faith and encouraging them to make the most out of this opportunity. Mr. Ghulam Murtaza from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan discussed the various steps and scope of the training. He requested all participants to attend the training with full faith and attention. The training will be held up to February 25, 2025 covering all Saturdays and Sundays. This initiative demonstrates MUST’s commitment to faculty development and excellence in education.
