Paramount respect & salute to the indomitable spirit, courage and stellar achievements of the women of the entire globe : Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST AJ&K

Department of Home Economics of MUST, Mirpur AJ&K in collaboration with Khadija Zareen Khan Foundation (KZK) commemorated International Women’s Day (IWD 2023) with theme “ DigitALL Innovation and technology for gender equality ”. Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M) Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur and Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan, CEO of Khadija Zareen Khan Foundation graced the the event held in Mechanical Hall of the City Campus of the Mirpur University on Wednesday, March 08, 2023.

Students of the Department of Home Economics presented various documentaries on multiple media /displayed tableau which were reflecting women’s contributions, leading role in building the society and their tremendous struggle for making this modern world. Ms. Nasreen Tariq, Coordinator Department of Home Economics, Ms. Asma Ali Shan, Law Officer, Women Development Department, Government of AJ&K and faculty members expressed their views regarding the importance of the day and things need to be done for gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Speaking on the occasion Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST Mirpur AJ&K said that the day inspires us to renew our pledge to make women an equal and integral part of the journey of life, which will immensely bring growth and development of the globe. One should not forget that there is lot more to be done in the society to protect the women, have a role to play in to further ensure that all girls women & gender diverse people have every opportunity to presue their dreams of life he added.

Honourable Vice Chancellor commended marvelous efforts of the Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan, CEO, KZK, Ms. Nasreen Tariq, Coordinator Department of Home Economics, Mr. Zohaib Zaman, renowned Kashmiri Singer, Faculty Members and Students of the Department of Home Economics for organizing the International Women’s Day 2023 and handed over shields to Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan, CEO, KZK, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ghous, Dean Faculty Social Sciences and Humanities, Ms. Nasreen Tariq, Coordinator Department of Home Economics and faculty members. Participants of the event also received certificates from Vice Chancellor MUST & CEO KZK.

Chief Guest Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan, CEO of Khadija Zareen Khan Foundation thanked Brigadier Younus Javed for providing University platform to celebrate the International Women’s Day and motived & encouraged the participants to work for the gender equality.
