Kashmir Issue under the Prism of Emerging Challenges in New Global Political Reorientations . A webinar hosted by the Directorate of Network & Telecommunication Centre (NTC) of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJ&K.

Network & Telecommunication Center of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJ&K organized a Webinar on Kashmir issue titled: “Kashmir issue in new Global Political Reorientations” on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 1800 hours in Video Conference Room of MUST in City Campus through Zoom.

Mr. Muhammad Shakeel, former Station Director Radio Mirpur AJ&K / Moderator of Webinar on Kashmir issue and Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad Bhat, Director NTC of Mirpur University, conducted the proceedings / technical support of the event.

Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Secretary, Washington-based World Kashmir Awareness Forum, Mr. Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Convener Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU), Dr. Mubeen Shah, Ex-President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Mr. Tamoor Akbar Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of International Relations, Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K were the participants of the Webinar.

On topic of Kashmir issue and new global Political reorientations Chaudhary Taimoor Akbar, Assistant Professor MUST, AJK in his address thanked NTC, for organizing the webinar on such an important and core issue. He applauded that MUST frequently organized the seminars, rallies, walks and roundtable talks on Kashmir issue to give insight into the MUST fraternity. He said that lack of in depth understanding of the issue of Kashmir is a major concern of both the Pakistani and Kashmiri students and this is the period of information flood and Indian propaganda is more dominant regarding the issue of Kashmir. He said that it is the right time to propagate the issue of Kashmir in every legal forum. He also recommended that the Kashmiri diaspora need to be more active and dynamic.

Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai , Secretary Washington – based World Kashmir Awareness Forum emphasized on organizing such seminars as these activities are helpful to keep the Kashmir issue alive otherwise if there will be no activity regarding Kashmir issue, India will make the world believe that there is no issue of Kashmir. He said that the Indian democracy is dying in the silence of Kashmir. He also said that we should stick to the implementation of UN resolution through impartial plebiscite.

Dr. Mubeen Shah, Ex-President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said that Pakistan should take more steps in highlighting the Kashmir issue. Right of self-determination should be the theme of everyone. All stakeholders holders should have consensus on one point and that is the implementation of UN resolutions through a plebiscite. He also said that the world must understand that Genocide in Kashmir has already begun. Re-pledge support to the Kashmir cause across all political parties & stakeholders within Pakistan with all options available. Will Pakistan look the other way if God forbid India attacks Lahore? Pakistan should not bank on bilateral negotiati, ns and every now and then get an answer which does not change anything on the ground. As has already been intimated to the State of Pakistan by the JOINT RESISTANCE LEADERSHIP (JRL) that Pakistan should revoke Shimla Agreement after India re-annexed IIoJK on Aug. 05, 2019, Kashmiris feel the time is yet on their side that Islamabad takes steps towards this end. We are confident if all of us act with unity of thought and, action we will be successful in our just & holy cause.

Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union, discussed that how can we get the right of self-determination and how can we present our case before world powers., theK there Kashmir issue should be part of syllabus. There should be section or department of human rights in all universities of AJK and the data should be maintained regarding the atrocities so that India may be held accountable at different forums.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi , Convener, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir said Cubic opted to go with Canada . They decided through plebiscite to access to Canada when they were asked. Similarly Kashmiri want to be herd like the people of Cubic, South Sudan or others where the people were given the right of self-determination. All the parties of Kashmir have agreed on one point and that is right of self-determination. Jammu and Kashmir issue is not an issue of piece of land, but it is the issue of people of Jammu & Kashmir and it is the issue of human rights. After the revocation of article 370 and 35A the demography is being changed and India is violating international laws. Voice of people is being suppressed with force, guns, and bloodshed. India inducted millions of non-state people in Kashmir to change the demographic situation in Indian illegally occupied Kashmir. We must always be trying for the freedom, Almighty will help us and the people of Jammu & Kashmir will attain freedom one day InshaAllah.
