Mirpur University Organised In-House Competitions as part of Independence Day 2025 celebrations, where students exhibited their talent, patriotic spirit & deep sense of National Pride
In line with the Independence Day celebrations 2025 and directives of the Higher Education Department, Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (GoAJK), the Directorate of Students’ Affairs, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), organized a vibrant in-house competition among students. The event took place in the Mechanical Hall of the university, with enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. This competition marks the first stage of a wider initiative in which winners from each university will later compete in the Inter-University Independence Day Competitions organized by the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (UAJ&K), Muzaffarabad. The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Ansar Ali Khan, Deputy Director of Students’ Affairs, and Ms. Asma Ishaq, Assistant Director of Students’ Affairs. A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the participants, including: Mr. Taimor Akbar Chaudhary, Additional Registrar; Dr. Touqeer Ahmed, Department of English; and Engr. Dr. Asad Munir, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
After a series of spirited and creative performances, the following students were declared top position holders in their respective contests: Laiba Sagheer, Department of English (Urdu Declamation); Murtaza Ali, Department of Biotechnology (English Declamation); Zara Yousaf, Faculty of MUST Business School (Painting Competition); Syed Burhan Haider Bukhari, Department of Software Engineering (Poster Making Competition); and Mahnoor Zahid, Department of Physical Therapy (DPT), (Singing of national songs). The event not only highlighted the patriotic spirit of students but also provided a platform to showcase their creative talents. The Directorate of Students’ Affairs congratulates all participants and winners and extends best wishes to the selected students for the upcoming inter-university competition at Muzaffarabad.
