The Department of Electrical Engineering of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K has achieved a significant milestone with the successful defense of its 5th Ph.D. thesis. Mr. Umair Ahmad Salaria, Ph.D. scholar defended his thesis titled:

“Swarm-based Evolutionary Solution to Economic Load Dispatch Problem”

Mr. Salaria’s research was supervised by Dr. Muhammad Ilyas Menhas, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering of Mirpur University. The thesis was evaluated by two international experts:

1. Prof. Dr. Xue Li, School of Mechatronics and Automation, Department of Electrical Engineering, Shanghai University, China.
2. Dr. Hasan Gunduz, Mus Alparslan University (Muş Alparslan Üniversitesi), Turkey.

The external examiner Dr. Rashid Saleem, Associate Professor, Department of Telecom Engineering, UET Taxila conducted the viva voce examination. The open public defense was attended by esteemed guests including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajid, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Naeem Iqbal Ratyal, Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering, Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Anzar Mehmood, Director, AS&R, Dr. Zafar Ali Khan, Chairman, Department of Computer Systems Engineering, Faculty Members, Ph.D. / M.Phil. research scholars and students of the Department of Electrical Engineering. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Department of Electrical Engineering of MUST, Mirpur AJ&K demonstrating its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation.
