Through the exertions & visionary sagacity of Brigadier Younus Javed MUST, Mirpur AJ&K joins NADRA’s Prestigious Consortium of 25 eminent Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to advance cutting-edge Research & Innovation

Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJK has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) officially becoming the only university in Azad Jammu and Kashmir selected as part of a prestigious national consortium of 25 leading Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). These HEIs will support and undertake NADRA’s future research and development initiatives.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), MUST. The NADRA delegation from Islamabad was led by Mr. Syed Gohar Abbas Jaffry, Director General, NADRA and Dr. Qamar Farooq, Team Lead – SID NADRA. They were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Faisal Riaz, Director ORIC, Mr. Taimoor Akbar Chaudhary, Additional Registrar, teams from ORIC & Business Incubation Center (BIC). The collaboration was made possible by the efforts & visionary leadership of Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST whose leadership played a vital role in bringing NADRA to MUST and initiating this strategic partnership.

During the visit delegation was presented with an overview of MUST’s academic excellence, research activities & innovation ecosystem followed by guided tour of the Business Incubation Center. The MoU was formally signed and commemorative shields were exchanged. NADRA officials shared their vision of building a consortium of HEIs to work on cutting-edge projects in areas such as identity management, AI, cybersecurity, digital transformation & data governance. It is worth highlighting that NADRA is not only leading national initiatives but is also executing strategic digital identity and governance projects across Asia and Africa reflecting its global influence in public service technologies. Local NADRA leadership from Mirpur & Muzaffarabad were also present at the ceremony.
