MUST observes Youm-e-Hussain (A.S) with the title “Youm-e-Hussain: Hussain Sab Ka” to honour the Noble Legacy of Imam Hussain (A.S), echoing his Universal Message of Truth, Sacrifice & Powerful defiance against tyranny. The sacred event served as gripping reminder of Karbala’s lasting ethos, an emblem of moral fortitude & transcendent unity that continues to inspire humanity across Generations
Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJK observed Youm-e-Hussain (A.S) with profound respect, reflection & emotional depth on the 4th of Muharram 1447 Hijri, with the theme of the event, “Youm-e-Hussain: Hussain Sab Ka,” beautifully captured this spirit of shared reverence and unity. The sacred event was attended by Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST along with senior faculty members including Prof. Dr. Khurum Pervaiz, Dr. Muhammad Altaf, Dr. Naveed Akram, Dr. Syed Zishan Ashiq, Major Jahangir Ahmed, Dr. Babar Naseem Khan, Dr. Ansar Basheer, Engr. Kashif Gardezi, Engr. Tahir Ameen, Faculty Members, Administrative Staff & a large number of students. In his address the Brigadier Younus Javed paid heartfelt tribute to the unmatched sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S), the noble and revered Grandson of Our beloved last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), quoting Hadees-e-Nabvi, verses of Allama Iqbal & wisdom of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (R.A) he emphasized how Imam Hussain’s (A.S) stance for truth, justice & dignity continues to inspire generations. He assured the University’s continued support to mark Youm-e-Hussain every year as a moral compass for students & society alike.
The ceremony resonated with powerful messages connecting Karbala’s legacy to modern struggles for justice and resistance. Dr. Zishan Ashiq linked the courage of Imam Hussain (A.S) with current events such as Pakistan’s Bunyaan-ul-Marsoos operation and Iran’s firm stance on global injustice, reminding attendees that the spirit of Karbala lives on. Engr. Tahir Ameen drew a stirring parallel between Imam Hussain’s defiance of tyranny and Nelson Mandela’s fight against apartheid, highlighting the universal nature of Hussain’s (A.S) legacy. Students honored his memory through passionate recitations of Nohas, Marsiyas, Manqabats and speeches. A soulful Manqabat by Syed Naveed Hussain Shah deeply moved the audience. The event reaffirmed that Imam Hussain’s message transcends time, sect and culture, serving as a beacon of hope, resilience and moral clarity for all of humanity.
