Vice Chancellor MUST together with Deputy Commissioner Mirpur jointly inaugurated MUST Sports Gala 2025, accentuating the significance of Sports in Character Cultivation, Communal Spirit & Holistic Development; A joint endeavour by Directorate of Sports & MUST Sports Society to embody vitality & Camaraderie

Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M), Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K & Chaudhary Yasir Riaz, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur AJ&K co-inaugurated the opening ceremony of the MUST Sports Gala 2025 (Inter-House Games) at the City Campus of Mirpur University on Monday, April 14, 2025. The Sports Gala 2025 includes 16 Houses with Eight each for Boys & Girls representing all Departments of the University. Over the course of five days a total of Eight events for boys and five events for girls will be held. The Closing Ceremony will take place on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 1115 hrs in the Mechanical Hall of the City Campus.

Speaking on the occasion Brigadier Younus Javed thanked Deputy Commissioner for his presence at the Youth event. He also extended his appreciation to the Principals of Government Post Graduate Colleges for Boys & Girls Mirpur for making their facilities available for the sports events and for their active participation in the event. Vice Chancellor pointed out that sports contribute significantly to the overall educational experience. He said that events like the MUST Sports Gala not only promote physical fitness but also nurture essential life skills such as discipline & confidence among students. Sharing a similar perspective Chaudhary Yasir Riaz, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur expressed his appreciation to Vice Chancellor MUST & his team for organising such a vibrant & spirited event. He highlighted the significant role of sports in shaping the character of young individuals by instilling values of teamwork, leadership & perseverance. He further encouraged students to take part wholeheartedly upholding the spirit of mutual respect. He also assured the District Administration’s support for such positive youth initiatives.

Mr. Abid Hussain, Director Sports while presenting details of the Mega event, expressed thanks to the honourable guests for their presence & shared the schedule of events & acknowledged the contributions of external Sports Experts supporting the Directorate of Sports in conducting MUST Sports Gala 2025. Event was attended by Deans of the Faculties, Principal Officers, Principals of Govt. Post Graduate Colleges for Boys & Girls Mirpur AJ&K, Heads of Departments, Directors, Coordinators, Administrative Officers, Faculty Members & Students.
