The Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K organised a One-Day Seminar on “Artificial Intelligence Fusion in Engineering Education & Industry” in Mechanical Hall of the City Campus of Mirpur University on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST, Mirpur AJ&K along with Prof. Dr. Khizer ul Haq, Registrar MUST, Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajid, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Rashida Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Chairpersons and Directors warmly received the honorable guests of the seminar, notably Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi, Chairman, The Engineers Pakistan / former Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council, Engr. Chaudhary Amir Afzal, Chief Engineer (Retired) PWD, Prof. Dr. Ali Sajid, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Chaudhary Rizwan Anwar, CEO of 7 Star, Engr. Shahzada, Executive Engineer PWD, and other dignitaries upon their arrival at City Campus.
Dr. Sohaib Manzoor, Organiser AI Seminar / Manager Innovation & Commercialization conducted the proceedings of the event whereas Prof. Dr. Naeem Iqbal Ratyal, Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering delivered the opening remarks and introduced the key objectives of the seminar on AI. Later in his welcome address Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor Mirpur University expressed gratitude to all the honorable guests for their arrival at Mirpur University. Addressing the subject he stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionising Aviation, Immigration, Health Sector, modes of transportation and almost all sectors of the modern industry. He emphasised that if we do not prepare our generation for AI today, we risk losing modern platforms, jobs at home and abroad and future opportunities. He highlighted the urgent need for education and training in AI to stay competitive in the global landscape. The Vice Chancellor commended Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajjad, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology & his organising team for holding awareness seminars and also lauded the joint efforts of all quarters of Mirpur University.
Keynote speakers Engr. Muhammad Anwar from USA Silicon Valley, Prof. Dr. Ali Sajid, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Engr. Najam Ul Hassan Gillani from PWD, Ch. Rizwan Anwar, CEO of 7 Star, Engr. Shahzada, Executive Engineer PWD & Dr. Khurram Pervaiz Amber, Director of Quality Enhancement Cell delivered their talks on the scope, exponential growth, rise and dominance of Artificial Intelligence in the world.
Dr. Khurram Pervaiz Amber, Director QEC conducted the panel discussion which included Prof. Dr. Ali Sajid, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Prof. Dr. Rashida Hussain, Dean FN&AS, Engr. Dr. Naveed Akram, Chairman ME, Dr. Mian Muhammad Zeeshan Javed, Chairman Department of Pharmacy, Engr. Dr. Saeed Ahmed, Director GBP, Dr. Zafar Ali Khan, Assistant Professor EED, Engr. Dr. Anwar ul Haq, Assistant Professor EED and Dr. Tauqeer Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of English. Chief Guest Engr. Chaudhary Amir Afzal, Chief Engineer Retired PWD and Keynote Speaker Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi, Chairman, The Engineers Pakistan while sharing their lifelong experiences stressed to the participants to register themselves in the upcoming training session for professional trainers and to take advantage of AI and use this very encouraging opportunity for the growth and development of the nation. They highly commended Brigadier Younus Javed, Vice Chancellor MUST, Mirpur AJ&K who has taken the initiative to conduct a successful seminar on the important and relevant topic of Artificial Intelligence.
