The open public defense of Ms. Sabah Siddique Choudhry, PhD Scholar of the Department of Chemistry, took place on Monday October 27, 2025 in the Academic Block-II Jarikas, computer lab, Department of Mathematics. Prof Dr. M. Arfan SNS, NUST was external examiner. The examiner appreciated the research work entitled “Synthesis of 1,3-thiazole derivatives and their potential biological applications”. Prof. Arfan praised the quality of work conducted by the scholar-who has already published two W category research paper. The research work is considered as a good addition in field drug discovery and designing. The PhD was supervised by Dr. Tashfeen Akhtar. The Prof. Dr. Rashid Hussain, Dean faculty of Natural and Applied Science, Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Aamir Saghir, Director ASRB, Ms. Shamaila Zafar, Assistant Director QEC, Dr. Zahid Latif, Chairman Department of Zoology, former Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Habib ur Rehman, Prof. Dr M. Aziz Choudhry, former Dean FN&AS, faculty members of Department of Chemistry and MPhil/PhD scholars of the Department also participated in the defense. The audience appreciated the candidate for her knowledge of subject and confidence during question answer session.
