Department of Human Nutrition & Dietitics and Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, jointly organized a thought-provoking seminar on “Food for Thought: How Microbiology and Nutrition Shape Our Health” Event was attended by distinguished panel of guest speakers, including:
– Mr. Ijaz Ahmad Qamar, Deputy Director/Food Safety Officer, AJ&K food authority,Mirpur Division
– Mr. Rana Shoaib Azeem, Food Safety Officer, Military Lands and Cantonment Department, Ministry of Defence,Rawalpindi
– Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Lal, District Food Controller,AJ&K food authority,Mirpur Division
– Miss Hamail Adnan, Food Safety Manager, Nafees Group of Companies, Mirpur
– Mr. Muhammad Jalil, Food Analyst/Food technologist, AJK food authority,Mirpur Division
– Prof. Dr. Zahida Qasim, Head of Pathology Department, DHQ Mirpur AJK
– Mr. Sikandar Khan Sherwani, Academician, Researcher, and Head of LIDIR Lab, Karachi.

The audience was treated to a comprehensive exploration of the intricate relationships between microbiology, nutrition, and human health. The highlight of the event was the interactive question-and-answer session, where attendees enthusiastically posed questions, and the speakers provided insightful responses. The seminar was honoured by the presence of respectable Dean Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab and Chairperson Pharm D . Mian Zeeshan Javaid, who’s contributed significantly to the discussion and deliberations. Mr. Aqib Saeed, Coordinator of the Human Nutrition & Dietetics department, and Ms. Tehseen Ismail, Coordinator of Microbiology Department made tireless efforts in co-organizing the seminar.
