Brigadier Younus Javed, VC MUST Mirpur AJ&K inaugurated Spring Plantation Drive 2026 orchestrated by Youth Development Centre (YDC) in collaboration with HUBCO Laraib Energy Ltd; Initiative embodies path-breaking trailblazing watershed in pursuit of environmental sustainability & green campus development envisaging the plantation of 600 fruit and shade plants to cultivate ecological equilibrium resilience & more salubrious future for posterity.
Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K inaugurated Spring Plantation Drive 2026 at Jarikas Campus of the University along with Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Prof. Dr. Naeem Iqbal Ratyal, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalique, Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Mohsin Zafar, Director SAC /Focal Person Youth Development Centre & Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Director Estate Management. The plantation drive is being carried out with the financial support of HUBCO Laraib Energy Ltd which contributed Rs 0.5 million for this green initiative. The support was secured through dedicated efforts of Dr. Mohsin Zafar who personally pursued & managed entire process of request submission and coordination. Under this plantation drive around 600 fruit & shade plants will be planted across different areas of University to promote green & healthy environment.
Speaking on the occasion Brigadier Younus Javed thanked HUBCO Laraib Energy Ltd for their support & appreciated Dr. Mohsin Zafar and Mr. Muhammad Ayub for their efforts in making this initiative possible. He further said that planting trees is important for protecting nature and ensuring healthy & sustainable future for the next generations. He added that planting trees is essential for safeguarding nature and securing a healthy & sustainable future for the coming generations. Another plantation session was conducted with participation of HUBCO Officials & Administrative Officers of MUST led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajid, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology ensuring active involvement and smooth execution of the drive.
