The Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS), Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJ&K marked its presence at the 6th All Pakistan Nutritionists Convention (APNC-2025), held at the prestigious Alhamra Art Council, Lahore. The convention brought together esteemed delegates from academic institutions, research organizations, healthcare providers, and government bodies. A notable moment for MUST was the invitation of Mr. M. Aqib Saeed, Coordinator of the Department, as guest of honour and keynote speaker. His compelling talk on “Perioperative Nutrition: Strategies to Improve Outcomes in Malnourished Surgical Patients” resonated deeply with the event’s theme, “Sustainable Nutrition for a Thriving Nation.” The convention offered an engaging platform for professionals to exchange ideas, foster collaborations, and explore forward-looking strategies to strengthen Pakistan’s nutritional landscape.
Further elevating the department’s distinction, students from MUST secured two top positions in the poster presentation and therapeutic product development competitions, emerging as winners among participants from leading universities nationwide. This outstanding achievement highlights the department’s commitment to academic excellence and research-driven innovation. Special recognition goes to Ms. Komal Saif, an inspiring therapeutic innovator, whose creative contribution demonstrated a powerful synergy between nutrition, sustainability, and scientific advancement. Her success reflects the spirit of dedication and ingenuity that defines FHMS and reinforces MUST’s mission to deliver impactful, evidence-based solutions for the betterment of public health and community well-being.
