Brigadier Younus Javed, VC MUST Mirpur AJ&K inaugurated Plantation Drive under Green & Healthy Initiatives, jointly organised by Green Society MUST & Muslim Hands Mirpur; the drive reflects University’s vision of environmental sustainability & conservation of nature for future Generations

Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K inaugurated Plantation Drive at the City Campus of the University on Monday, August 18, 2025. The event was organised through the collaboration of Green Society MUST (GSM) & Muslim Hands Mirpur with support of Directorate of Estate Management as part of Green & Healthy Initiative of Mirpur University. Representatives of Muslim Hands Mirpur included Mr. Hasnain Saghir, Social Organizer (SWM), Mr. Muawiaz Thakar, Media Officer, Mr. Qasim Khan, PR Assistant along with the volunteer team. The Green Society MUST was led by its President, Mr. Tanzeel Sheikh accompanied by Mr. Siraj Arshad, Senior Vice President, Mr. Ghulam Mujtaba, Vice President & Mr. Sardar Ahmed, Director Management.

The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, Dean Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Rashida Hussain, Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajid, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology & Prof. Dr. Naeem Iqbal Ratyal, Registrar MUST along with Heads of Departments, Administrative Officers & Faculty Members. Brigadier Younus Javed in his remarks lauded role of Muslim Hands Mirpur for their remarkable contribution towards green initiatives & for extending valuable services to Mirpur University in Plantation Drive. He also commended Green Society MUST for their efforts in this meaningful collaboration with volunteer organization for a noble national cause. Vice Chancellor highlighted critical importance of green environment for the survival, health & sustainability of future generations.
