MUST, Mirpur AJ&K building on its synergistic & forward-looking initiative has inked a MoU with Karot Power Company Limited (KPCL) to empower Students with transformative Educational opportunities; initiative is poised to cast a profound & far-reaching influence on the provision of quality higher learning, supporting community uplift & regional capacity building while being fueled through a sustained, coordinated & equitable selection design so as to maximizes opportunities for deserving students both from the project vicinity as well as for the wider region. This landmark collaboration signifies broadened academic opportunities, deepened institutional connections & visionary mission of Mirpur University to advance Knowledge, Research & Societal well-being as a pivotal common goal
Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M), Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K & Mr. Liu Yonggang, CEO of Karot Power Company Limited (KPCL) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at KPCL Office, Serena Business Complex, Islamabad to establish a comprehensive scholarship program for underprivileged and deserving undergraduate and postgraduate students. The 720 MW Karot Hydropower Project is a key energy project under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor dedicated to the generation of clean energy in Pakistan. As a project company of CTG Asia Africa it is committed to extensive community development efforts focused on uplifting, health & education in the areas surrounding the project. The MoU confirms KPCL’s commitment to providing an annual grant to cover the academic expenses of up to 10 students with priority for those from the designated areas near the project.
Expressing his views on the occasion Brigadier Younus Javed thanked the Karot Project for its generous grant. He said the support will ease the financial burden on deserving students and their families and will help MUST continue its mission of providing accessible and quality higher education. He added that MUST looks forward to a long & productive partnership with KPCL and would keep close coordination on the application criteria & selection process to ensure that the benefit reaches the deserving students from the local community. Mr. Liu Yonggang, CEO of KPCL said the company would continue to support talented young people so they can achieve their dreams. He added that this scholarship partnership with MUST will help ensure that financial challenges do not stop bright students from getting education.
