Marking Pakistan’s Singular eminence as the Only Nuclear Power in Islamic World & Seventh Globally, MUST Mirpur AJ&K hosted series of fervid Competitions across diverse venues & intervals to inculcate Patriotic Consciousness among Youth & to engage Students in erudite discourse & Artistic articulation on Pakistan’s glorious triumph in Marka-e-Haq; the valiant role of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, inextricable Pak-Kashmir bond, the Nation’s unshakeable Resolve for Kashmir Cause and to honour the Supreme Sacrifices of the subjugated Masses of illegally Indian-occupied Kashmir amidst soul-inflicting atrocities by the Occupational Indian Forces
Mirpur University of Science and Technology MUST, Mirpur AJ&K commemorated Youm-e-Takbeer with series of thoughtful & engaging competitions beginning on May 22, 2025. This historic day stands as a symbol of Pakistan’s firm resolve to safeguard its Sovereignty & maintain Regional stability through Strategic Strength. The Week-long activities were carefully designed to instill patriotic values, strengthen National Unity & encourage students to reflect on the sacrifices and struggles that anchor the Pakistan’s freedom & security. Through these initiatives students were given platforms to express their perspectives on the heroic role of the Pakistan Armed Forces, the unbreakable Pakistan-Kashmir bond, the Kashmir cause & relentless suffering of the people of Indian-Occupied Kashmir. A comprehensive lineup of impactful events including the Declamation Competition, Documentary Competition, Quiz Competition, Essay Writing Contest, Painting Competition & Award Distribution Ceremony were hosted by the Departments of International Relations, Mass and Media Communication, Education, English & Home Economics. The Society of International Relations led the coordination of these events with support of Society of Young Leaders (SOYL) & English Literary Society.
The Department of Mass Communication held a Documentary Competition centered on themes including the role of the Armed Forces, the Kashmir bond, the Kashmir Cause & Indian atrocities. The competition saw active participation from students across various faculties who submitted impactful documentaries with a maximum duration of five minutes. The English Literary Society hosted an Essay Writing Competition on the topic “Azad Kashmir and Pakistan: A Unified Front Against Oppression in Occupied Kashmir.” Originality was strictly enforced through a plagiarism policy.
On May 22, 2025 the Department of Education assisted by the Society of Young Leaders (SOYL) organised Quiz Competition focusing on Pakistan’s emergence as a Nuclear Power, the enduring bond between Pakistan and Azad Kashmir & the spirit of resilience and unity. Five teams each comprising four members from various faculties competed through three challenging rounds. Where as the Society of International Relations conducted a Declamation Competition under the theme “Standing with the People of Indian Occupied Kashmir: A National Commitment,” held on May 26, 2025 in the Mechanical Hall. Open to all faculties, the event emphasised original & respectful speeches delivered without scripts.
Bringing an artistic dimension Department of Home Economics successfully executed a Painting Competition. Seven talented students including a young prodigy from Grade 6, participated enthusiastically.
Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST graced the Award Distribution Ceremony in the Mechanical Hall of the City Campus of the University. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajid, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Speaking on the occasion Brigadier Younus Javed highlighted the significance of the 27th Anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer calling it a Day of immense celebration & thankfulness. He remarked that Pakistan has been blessed by the Allah Almighty with the strength to defend its sovereignty and live with honour. Reflecting on the historical importance of May 28, 1998 he stated that it remains an unforgettable day when Pakistan emerged as a Nuclear Power on the Global Stage. Youm-e-Takbeer is not only a symbol of the Nation’s Courage but also a powerful message to adversaries that any aggression against Pakistan will be met with an exemplary response. Vice Chancellor paid rich tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, the Nation’s brilliant Scientists, Engineers & visionary leadership for making Pakistan a formidable and resilient power. Following his address Brigadier Younas Javed distributed merit certificates among the winners & organisers of the competitions. He praised the dedication & passion of the participating Departments, Students & Societies in organising impactful events that nurtured National pride.
