The University library came in to being with the establishment of the University. The important function of the University Library is serving the faculty, students, researchers and staff of the University. The Ali Ahmed Shah Library has a variety of material including Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Management Sciences, and Earth Science, Social Sciences, General books, Fictions, Pakistan Study and Reference books. The total number of central library collection is 18011 besides that in the vicinity of the Central Library few departmental libraries are also being accommodated.

The total number of library collection of the departmental libraries is 8000. The Ali Ahmed Shah Central Library also offers the Book Bank services to the users and having the collection of 3200 books. The library regularly receives the six daily newspapers to provide day to day information to their users. Access to electronic journals is available on-line within the university campus under Digital Library Program; a Project of Higher Education Commission, most of these resources are available full text. The library has also been equipped with all the latest Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) such as computers, multimedia, digital cameras, photocopier and high speed internet connectivity to facilitate the faculty/ students.The Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) has the duel system of library services apart from the central library. Each and every department has its own library.

Mission

The mission of the University Library is to support academic and scholarly needs of our users, in their core academic and research requirements through utilizing the best possible resources and extend this service to the community beyond the Mirpur University of Science and Technology, in so far as possible.
