Mission Statement for BS Islamic Studies
To polish and groom by providing Islamic education and training to the new generation to become an useful group of the society by studying the diverse fields of Islamic Studies. The students are encouraged to attain quality education.
Program objectives
- To produce graduates with high conceptual background.
- Disseminating the knowledge to students from the perspective of different Islamic school of thoughts.
- Developing analytical skills to comprehend fiqh, hadith, and tafseer of Quran.
- Enabling students to become good and vibrant Islamic scholar in order to serve Islam and its sublime purpose by imparting knowledge of Islamic thoughts.
- Contributing to right Islamic thinking.
- Preparing students for Islamic education at different levels.
Program Structure – BS Islamic Studies:
The BS Islamic Studies degree program is structured in accordance with the provisions of the HEC Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1. and comprises of minimum 143 credit hours (including internship / field experience) spread over eight (08) regular semesters.

Mission Statement for BS Arabic
Illumination of Arabic Language & Literature in areas including usage of dictionaries, study of Research Methodologies, Phonetics, Arabic literature (poetry and prose), Rhetoric and criticism. It is expected that the students graduating with this degree will be able to implement / apply the knowledge that they acquire during this program, in their future professional and personal activities.
Program objectives
- To make the students aware of History of Arab world, its geographical, cultural, political and economic conditions.
- To enable the students to study the works of renowned writers, poets and critics of Arabic language and literature.
- The students are aware of core linguistic concepts of Arabic language.
- To equip the students with the skill of reading, writing and speaking Arabic.

M.Phil in Islamic studies
Program Description
The MS/MPhil in Islamic Studies is structured in accordance with the HEC Graduate Education Policy 2023 to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic thought, culture, and history. This program aims to equip students with the analytical, critical thinking, and research skills necessary to explore the multifaceted aspects of Islam and its global influence.
Students will gain a deep understanding of Islamic theology, ethics, law, and philosophy, as well as the historical development of Islamic civilizations. The program emphasizes the importance of understanding the social, political, and cultural contexts of Islam, promoting a broader awareness of the diverse Muslim communities around the world. Students will develop rigorous research methodologies applicable to the study of Islamic texts and contexts, enabling them to engage with both classical and contemporary scholarly works. The curriculum encourages critical engagement with contemporary issues facing Muslim communities, including interfaith dialogue, secularism, and modernity. The program fosters a global perspective on Islamic studies, addressing topics such as diaspora communities, globalization, and the interactions between Islam and other world religions.
Program Learning Outcomes
By the completion of MS/MPhil Islamic Studies, the graduates will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental Islamic beliefs, doctrines, and theological concepts, and their historical development.
- Analyze and interpret key texts from the Qur'an and Hadith, understanding their contextual backgrounds and implications for contemporary issues.
- Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to assess different interpretations of Islamic texts and their applications across various contexts.
- effectively communicate complex ideas related to Islamic studies in both written and oral forms to diverse audiences.

I) 16-years of education/ Level 06 qualification in the field of Islamic Studies II) Candidates having Shahadat-ul-Almia (from recognized bodies from HEC) are also eligible to apply for MPhil Islamic Studies program. III) NTS GAT general, GRE, UGAT or equallent with a minimum 50 % score. IV) The selected candidates shall have to produce HEC attested degree within two months of their admission. V) In service students are required to submit their NOC from concernd competent authority within two months after they get admission. VI) A candidate shall be selected based on cumulative merit to be determined from his/her past academic record and achievements in the written tests conducted by the Admission Committee concerned and Interview by the Insititute of Islamic Studies ( As per HEC rules )as below: |
