Academic Program
BS Media and Communication program is being offered by the DMC, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) for the first time in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK). The program consists of course work covered in four-year duration followed by internship in well reputed media organization / research project. DMC provides a unique blend of critical analysis with practical training. The education program aims to develop each student with creative abilities. The courses are designed to meet contemporary professional standards.

The BS Media and Communication Studies program aims to produce graduates who are well equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical understanding needed for success in the media and communication industry. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

Concepts, Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of media theories, communication models, and their applications in various contexts. Analyze Media’s Impact on Society. Evaluate the role of media in shaping public opinion, influencing culture, and driving social and political change.
PLO2: Skills & Application: Develop Effective Communication Skills, Exhibit proficiency
In verbal, written, and non-verbal communication across diverse media platforms. Utilize Digital and Multimedia Technologies, Apply digital tools and emerging technologies in media production, journalism, advertising, and public relations. Conduct Research in Media and Communication, Design, execute, and interpret research using qualitative and quantitative methodologies to address media-related issues. Create Ethical and Responsible Media Content, Uphold professional ethics, journalistic integrity, and media law compliance in communication practices.
