Introduction
The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program is a rigorous and comprehensive program designed to train individuals in the art and science of veterinary medicine. The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) is a five-year, semester based professional program. The program consists of pre-clinical and clinical subjects. There is one semester in built compulsory internship. After five years of basic and clinical educations, graduates will be as qualified veterinarians. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or a veterinarian is medical specialist concerned with the prevention, control, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of domestic and wild animals. Veterinarians also ensure a safe food supply to people by monitoring the heath of food producing animals. Today, veterinarians serve worldwide in private and corporate clinical practices, academic programs, private industry, government service, public health and military services. - Livestock Assistant Diploma (LAD)
Introduction
The Livestock Assistant Diploma is offered by department of Veterinary Sciences. In specific, this proposed 2 years Diploma will enable the candidate to professionally assist the veterinarians in Veterinary hospitals, dispensaries and as well as in the field. This program covers various aspects of livestock production, including animal health and nutrition, breeding and genetics, and sustainable livestock farming practices. Students will learn to efficiently undertake prophylactic measures including seasonal vaccinations against diseases. Artificial Insemination (AI) has gained a strong footing in Pakistan and our Diploma holders will be trained in basics of AI technique. They will also be able to impart extension education in animal breeding, feeding, disease control, management and marketing. Upon completion of the program, graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to work as livestock assistants, farm managers, and in other related positions in the livestock industry.
