The Department of Home Economics organized a colourful and engaging Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Event today at MUST. The celebration highlighted the deep cultural ties and friendship between Pakistan and Turkey through student creativity, food, and art.
The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the honourable guest, Director Islamic Studies Dr. Tahir Aslam SB with Respected Sir Naseer Ud Din, Dr. Sajjad Ahmed and Dr. Asghar Ali , followed by a plantation activity in which teachers and students participated together. This act symbolized growth, unity, and the strengthening bond between the two nations. Afterward, guests, teachers, and students took group photographs in front of the Pakistan-Turkey banner, marking a memorable start to the day.
A key attraction was the Pledge Wall, beautifully painted by students with the flags of both countries. Everyone was invited to write notes and pledges of friendship, turning the wall into a meaningful symbol of peace, love, and connection.
Several stalls were set up by students, showcasing Turkish culture and creativity:
Kumro Turkish Sandwiches Stall: Served delicious Turkish-style sandwiches.
Turkish Bites Stall: Featured pasta and other Turkish-inspired snacks.
Jewellery Stall: Displayed elegant handmade jewellery crafted by students.
Anatolian Stall: Offered authentic Turkish kebabs and kehwa and set up a Turkish-themed photobooth decorated with bandanas, jewellery, and hats. Visitors enjoyed dressing up and taking pictures, adding a fun and interactive element to the event.
The decorations were beautifully done, reflecting Turkish and Pakistani elements, and the entire setup from stalls to artwork was completed by the students themselves. Their dedication, creativity, and teamwork made the event a great success.
Overall, the Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Event successfully celebrated the cultural connection between the two nations while showcasing the talent, hard work, and enthusiasm of the students of the Department of Home Economics.
