The open public thesis defense of Mr. Israr Asghar, PhD scholar, Department of Biotechnology was held on October 25, 2024 at 1100 hrs in the Video Conference Room of Network and Telecommunications Center (NTC), CS&IT Building, City Campus of Mirpur University. Mr. Israr Asghar completed his research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ahmed and Co-Supervison of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq.

The defense was attended by Prof. Dr. Rehana Asghar, former Vice Chancellor MUST, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Ahmed (supervisor), former Vice Chancellor MUST, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Sheikh (External examiner), Chairperson Department of Environmental Sciences, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq (Co-Supervisor), Prof. Dr. Rashida Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Mr. Kamran Hameed, Controller of Examinations, Engr. Dr. Anzar Mahmood, Director AS&RB, Mr. Tamoor Akbar, Additional Registrar, Dr. Rizwan Ullah, Dy. Director AS&RB, Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dy. Director QEC, faculty members, Ph.D. and M.Phil. research scholars and students.

After the presentation by the scholar there was a detailed questions & answer session in whichexaminer students, faculty members and external participated. After that supervisory committee, external examiner, the Controller of Examination and Director AS&RB make the final decision about the defense in a separate meeting. The external examiner announce the final decision and appreciated the scholar and the Department of Biotechnology for conducting the quality and excellent research work. Mr. Israr is the 6th PhD scholar of the Department of Biotechnology. Finally, Dr. Raja Tahir Mahmood, Assistant Professor Biotechnology, thanks all the respected guests, faculty members and students for attending the thesis defense. The ceremony ended with refreshments.
