October 31, 2025The Institute of Islamic Studies organised Sports Day in honour of Turkish National Day

As part of the ongoing Turkish National Day Celebration Week (observed from October 28 to November 01, 2025), a lively and energetic Sports Activity Day was organized today at the Main Campus of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST). The event was arranged by the Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS) to express solidarity with the brotherly nation of Türkiye and to celebrate the spirit of friendship, unity, and teamwork.
The sports event was held under the leadership of Dr. Tahir Aslam, Director, Institute of Islamic Studies, with the valuable presence and active participation of key faculty members including Dr. Asghar Ali Khan (Ex-Director IIS), Dr. Shahbaz Shabbir, and Mr. Ghulam Mustafa, Lecturer, who all contributed to the successful organization of the program.
The day featured exciting and competitive events such as Tug of War and Badminton, in which both faculty members and students of the Institute of Islamic Studies participated with great enthusiasm and team spirit. The atmosphere remained vibrant and joyful throughout the event, reflecting a strong sense of unity and mutual respect. At the conclusion of the competitions, trophies were presented to the winning teams in recognition of their performance and sportsmanship.
The series of events were organized under the kind supervision of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younas Javed, whose continued encouragement and visionary leadership have always been a source of motivation for faculty and students alike. Special thanks were also extended to Director Sports, Mr. Abid Hussain, who, along with his dedicated team, was present throughout the event to ensure its smooth execution and success. The Institute of Islamic Studies expressed sincere gratitude for his valuable support and supervision in making the sports activities a remarkable success. The event concluded with a message of solidarity and brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye, highlighting the shared commitment to friendship, cooperation, and progress.
