Brig.(R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI(M), Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur AJ&K inaugurated the opening ceremony of MUST Sports Gala 2023 (Inter-House Games) at City Campus of Mirpur University on February 27, 2023 at 1200 hours.

Directorate of Sports and Youth Development Center of Mirpur University jointly organized MUST Sports Gala 2023. Eight Boys and Eight Girls Houses, in total 16 Houses (Comprised of 45 Departments of the University) participated in the mega event of Sports 2022 – 2023.

Mr. Abid Hussain, Director Sports of Mirpur University in opening speech thanked honourable Brig. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus Javed SI (M), Vice Chancellor MUST, Mirpur AJ&K for gracing the occasion. Director presented details regarding the events and paid respect to all external sports experts who were there to support MUST Sports Directorate to conduct Annual Event.

Brigadier Younus Javed in his speech said that sports play important role in the lives of all the individuals therefore, for physical fitness and strength, sports are integral part of life. He further said such kind of Sports provide platform for the students to showcase the talent & skills in various events. Such events also help in promoting a healthy and competitive spirit among the students he added. Brigadier Younus Javed commended the efforts of Mr. Abid Hussain, Director Sports, Dr. Moshin Zafar, in charge, Youth Development Center, Mr. Waqar Saleem, Director Physical Education, Mr. Rashid Mehmood, Physical Training Instructor, supporting Staff of the Sports Directorate, Principal Pilot School No. 1 for providing School Band on the opening ceremony and also admired active role of MUST Societies for organising the mega event.

Khalid Bin Waleed House, Quaid e Azam House, Muhammad Bin Qasim House, Iqbal House, Tipu Sultan House, Sir, Saeed Ahmed Khan House, Tariq Bin Zaid House, Sultan Mehmood Ghazanvi House, Ayesha House, Maryum House, Haleem House, Fatima House, Zainab House, Khadija House and Hajra House were participating in Table Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Tug of war, 800 M, 400 M, 200 M and 100 Meters.
