​The Network and Telecommunication Centre department is responsible to manage entire network of the University. The Network and Telecommunication Centre department at Mirpur University of Science and Technology has designed and deployed the entire network of the University and also responsible for performance monitoring, troubleshooting, back up, and maintenance of a variety of networking hardware and security issues.The Network and Telecommunication Centre is also responsible for the management of telecommunication infrastructure within the University. Installation of telecom exchanges at the university, troubleshooting on the event of issue, and also provides maintenance services.

Pakistan Educational Research Network (PERN) January, 2010
PERN – Pakistan Education and Research Network is a national research and education network of Pakistan which connects premiere educational and research institutions of the country. PERN focuses on collaborative research, knowledge sharing, resource sharing, and distance learning by connecting people through the use of Intranet and Internet resources.
Looking into the importance of internet a request was generated to HEC on 25th of June, 2009 for the provision of PERN link by Vice Chancellor, of Mirpur University of Science and Technology, Mirpur. After a thorough and continual effort by the Director of Network and Telecommunication Centre department of MUST, Mirpur, (Mr. Imtaiz Ahmad Bhat), an 8 Mbps PERN network link was provided to MUST, Mirpur on January 2010. With growing number of users at the university, a proposal has been initiated to increase the bandwidth of the PERN up to 20 Mbps so that bandwidth requirement for all the departments at the university can be met.

Digital Library Access April, 2010
HEC National Digital Library (DL) is a program to provide researchers within public and private universities in Pakistan and non-profit research and development organizations with access to international scholarly literature based on electronic (online) delivery, providing access to high quality, peer-reviewed journals, databases, articles and e-Books across a wide range of disciplines. The e-books support program will allow researchers to access most of the important text and reference books electronically in a variety of subject areas. Around 75,000 number of electronic content has been made available through the Digital Library Program.
It is the policy of HEC that the digital library can be access from the university’s network only. The NTC team has conducted some workshops to train the university faculty and students regarding how to access and utilize the digital library on different occasions. Below is the procedure in steps how to access digital library from the university network:
