Evening Program

Introduction

The Master of Commerce (M.Com 1.5 Years) Evening degree program concentrates on commerce, management and economics related subjects. The program covers core competencies in accounting, finance, taxation and auditing. This innovative program is designed for candidates intend to pursue their career in the fields of accounts / finance and are either at the beginning or mid of their professional career. Students having BS in Commerce (4 Years)/B.Com (Hons) 4-Yrs program or equivalent/M.Com (2-Yrs) degrees can take admission in this research-based degree as an alternative of MS/MPhil.

General Assessment:

Each semester contains 18 weeks of study that is exclusive of two weeks devoted for the conduction of midterm and final term examination. In the meantime, students are awarded sessional marks which are justified in the line with the take up of written quizzes and assignments on various topics.

Introduction/Description

Candidates holding 2-years B.Com degree or Associate Degree in Commerce (ADC) from a recognized University /institute with at least 45% marks are eligible for admission to BS in Commerce (2 Years) in accordance with HEC Policy, Islamabad, 4-year BS in Commerce (2 Years) is equivalent to existing M.Com with following conditions and required to qualify at least 69 credit hours with minimum 4-semesters to achieve CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0.

First Four semester courses (66 credit hours) of the BS in Commerce (2 Years) will be considered as exempted and such students must qualify remaining 63 credit hours with no further course exemption claim.

Introduction:

Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Taxation is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on accounting principles and practices, as well as tax laws and regulations. This program typically prepares students for careers in accounting, finance, taxation, and related fields. The program could help aspiring professionals to develop creative thinking for strategic decisions at various organizational levels. Considering the need for specialization and rising demand of taxation services in Pakistan, it is high time to launch a degree on accounting and taxation. The degree would offer unique combination of accounting and taxation knowledge in line with modern realities of business practices in Pakistan. 

After graduating, the students would be able to work with accounting and taxation consultancy firms and would also be able to pursue independent career as ‘Tax Practitioner’ in Pakistan. The proposed program consists of 132 credit hours with a time period of four years. Suggested title of degree program is Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Taxation. It would be an eight semesters-132 credit hours’ degree program.
